KANA Health Programs
KANA provides Health and Community Development services to the greater Kodiak Island region. These services include our core health related services as well as community outreach and development initiatives.
Medical Clinic
The KANA Medical Clinic provides healthcare for beneficiaries in an outpatient clinic Monday through Friday. Emergent and inpatient care on weekends is provided at the Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center. Services provided by the department include:
- Out Patient Care
- Emergency Room Care
- Laboratory Services
- Pharmacy Service
- Contract Health Services
- Well Child and Women’s Health
- Diabetes Management
- Immunizations
- Chronic and Preventative Care
- Village Travel
- ANMC Specialty Clinic Coordination
- Village CHAP Support
Dental Clinic
The KANA Dental Clinic provides dental services for beneficiaries in the clinic Monday through Friday. Emergent care on evenings and weekends is triaged via the KANA on-call physician through Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center. Services provided by the department include:
- Dental Exams & Radiographs
- Fillings
- Root Canals
- Prophylaxis (cleanings) & Sealants
- Community and School Oral Health Education
- Head Start Fluoride Program
- Higher Levels of Care: Crowns, Bridges, Dentures, Orthodontics
- Village Travel
Behavioral Health Department
The Behavioral Health program provides therapeutic counseling for individuals, families and groups Monday through Friday. The department has staff in Kodiak as well as each of the six village communities, through the Behavioral Health Aide Program. Services provided by the department include:
- Anger Management, Outpatient, Intensive Outpatient and Aftercare Groups
- Community Training & Classroom Presentations
- Village Clinician Visits
- Mental Health Counseling & Crisis Response
- Behavioral Health Assessments, Treatment Plans, etc.
- Senior Meal Delivery in Village Communities
- Medical Social Work
- Home Visits
- Village Health Fairs & Other Activities Promoting Healthy Families
Community Health Aide Program (CHAP)
The CHAP Program is staffed by a Manager and Assistant Manager located in the Kodiak clinic, and Community Health Aide/Practitioners (CHA/P’s) in each of the six village communities on Kodiak Island. CHA/P’s provide primary health care services in the villages. CHAP offices/clinics are open Monday through Friday and CHA/P’s provide emergency on-call services outside of normal clinic hour.
Pharmacy
- Open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Open Wednesday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. only.
To avoid delays when requesting refills on existing medications, KANA patients are encouraged to call at least 24 hours in advance. Although patients are not charged for the medication received here, we do have the ability to bill Third Party Payers (i.e. Insurance, Medicaid, Medicare etc…). If you have insurance please assist us by providing your updated billing information.
