Child Services
The Child Services Program is a multidisciplinary approach to child welfare on Kodiak Island. The Program Director collaborates with all KANA departments, Tribal Councils, and community partners to coordinate programs to end child maltreatment by: supporting families and caregivers; promoting healing from the trauma of abuse; and providing education and outreach on child abuse prevention and intervention. The Director may be reached during business hours at the KANA Clinic. Also, please take a moment to review the Children's Bill of Rights , as adopted by the Kodiak Area Native Association's Board of Directors, signifying KANA's dedication to the rights of children in our region.

2nd Regional Child Abuse Prevention Summit
March 22 & 23, 2010
The Kodiak Area Native Association, the Native Village of Afognak, Sun'aq Tribe of Kodiak, Kodiak Island Housing Authority, and the Office of Children's Services are partnering to host a Regional Child Abuse Prevention Summit, the second in a series of conferences to provide the community with child abuse prevention education and resources. Participants may register in advance or on site.
Highlights of the Summit include a half day session on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Pre-registration is requested for this session. Please use the Registration Form below or contact Jenny Wolfrom (907) 486-1358 or Jennifer.Wolfrom@kanaweb.org for more information.
