Behavioral Health Aide

Full-time in Larsen Bay and Ouzinkie ~ Provide comprehensive health promotion and disease prevention, treatment program with respect to alcohol, substance abuse or dependence and mental health. Also promote healthy behaviors in regards to geriatrics, nutrition, chronic disease prevention, environmental health, dental hygiene, and general consumer health issues. Minimum High School Graduate or equivalent. The selected individual will be provided the required BHA training that must be completed within two years; Obtaining and maintaining certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor Level I required (training provided by KANA); Knowledge of health promotion and disease prevention programs and initiatives required; Must be able to work in adverse circumstances, travel to various areas of the Island and State for routine as well as special program activities/projects and training.

Clinical Director

Full-time in Kodiak ~ As the Clinical Director, this position will provide patient and family focused medical care in accordance with KANA’s mission, vision, core values, key strategies, policies, and procedures. The care will be consistent with the highest recognized standards of clinical medicine. This position will also provide leadership and clinical direction of KANA’s medical services and providers. Through effective communication, organization and teamwork, direct a patient focused clinical care system that is consistent with recognized standards of medicine. Perform routine general medical and specialized duties that fall within a Family Medicine Physician’s technical and educational expertise to Alaska Natives and other Beneficiaries of KANA, including participation in call rotation schedule as assigned. This position has clinical, administrative and supervisory responsibilities. Minimum requirements: Graduation with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine from a U.S. medical school, or an Osteopathic Medical School and completion of an approved internship/residency in Family Practice. Permanent and full or unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Alaska. Prefer Board Eligible/Board Certified. Obstetrical training/experience preferred. ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire. ALSO, NRP, and ATLS may be required for inpatient care. Computer knowledge should be at intermediate level for EHR, Database, Internet, Spreadsheet, Word Processing software. Ability to travel to remote communities by small plane.

Community Health Aide

Full-time in Akhiok ~ Provide primary and emergent healthcare services in village clinics on Kodiak Island. Community Health Aides (CHAs) work in either 4 or 6 hour clinics and provide on-call coverage for emergencies after hours and on weekends as scheduled. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; individuals selected for this position will be provided training that follow the CHA Program and EMS guidelines for training, continuing education and certification.

Director of Community Services

Full-time in Kodiak ~ The Kodiak Area Native Association is searching for a highly motivated individual who is committed to customer service, quality improvement, and stewardship to lead our Community Services Division. KANA’s Community Services Division encourages and supports career development opportunities to increase sustainable economic development while promoting individual self-sufficiency. We strive to maintain and develop new partnerships to enhance resources that collectively meet beneficiaries’ needs and promote economic independence and healthy families. The Director of Community Services will provide oversight, leadership, and guidance ensuring effective operations of all community service programs. This position is responsible for the financial management of programs and the identification and administration of government and private grant sources. The Director of Community Services works with KANA leadership and Tribal Governments to jointly develop goals and strategies. A Bachelor's degree in an applicable field and a minimum of five years experience managing multiple programs or divisions is required.

Grants Manager

Full-time in Kodiak ~ Responsible for pursuing and securing grant funding for KANA. Researches, drafts, edits, and assists in the preparation of written funding applications and grant proposals. Provides funding opportunity information to pertinent division directors and works with staff to prepare proposals seeking funding for new and innovative programs which will enhance KANA’s ability to meet the needs of the beneficiaries. Conducts final review of proposed grant budgets to ensure accuracy and alignment with proposal. Develops and maintains a library of grant resources and awareness programs for program managers. Reviews literature on funding available to identify additional public and private sources of program support. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field with a minimum of two (2) years successful experience in grant writing, proposal development, or directly similar work.
